Most daily drivers in the Piedmont Triad do well with a full detail every three to four months, and a lighter exterior wash in between. That rhythm tracks the things that actually build up on a car here: pollen, road film, sap and humidity.
A simple year-round rhythm
Late spring, once the heaviest pine pollen has passed: full detail. Pollen is mildly acidic and, left on paint through rain and sun, it can etch the clear coat.
Midsummer: exterior wash. UV and bug splatter are the main enemies, and a protective spray helps paint shed both.
Early fall: full detail. Clear out the summer, then protect the paint before leaves, sap and winter road brine arrive.
Midwinter: exterior wash. Brine and salt cling to the underside and lower panels; rinsing them off is more important than most people think.
When to detail more often
Cars that sit outside under trees, vehicles with kids or pets, and rideshare or work vehicles all benefit from a shorter cycle. A good rule: if you notice the dirt, it has been there too long.
Keeping it easy
Mobile detailing makes the schedule realistic, because there is no drive and no waiting. Book the same time every season and the car takes care of itself.
